You put WHAT on your face?
Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben on MY!
You’re probably thinking okay, what the heck ARE these ingredients and let’s not even begin to try to annunciate them. No need to worry, if you click each word there is a cute (but long) definition for each, but to sum it all up there are all some sort of preservatives that you put on your skin. Yuck!.
If you don’t know what it is then why are we including these products in our daily skincare routine. This morning as I was getting ready for work, I flip over my eye cream and I could not even pronounce the ingredients in the jar. I mean, I get it, cosmetic and skincare companies are in the business of making money but luckily due to healthy alternatives it doesn’t have to be at the expense of your skin.
The BIGGEST brands in the skincare industry use these ingredients in order to extend the shelf life. They literally HAVE to use harsh preservatives like Propylparaben, Methylparaben, and Ethylparaben or else they would lose money. Don’t believe me? Take a look! Go to your vanity and pick up your best eye cream, face wash, moisturizer etc… and see if you can find one. 9 times out of 10 one of these WILL be inside.
Why are these so bad for your skin & can threaten your overall health?
Parabens are used in cosmetics and skincare products for two MAJOR reasons:
- EXTEND, EXTEND, EXTEND THE SHELF-LIFE of the product
- Prevent bacterial growth within the product while extending the shelf-life
So one good reason in exchange for one bad reason.
But, did you know parabens can penetrate the skin and cause hormonal imbalance? Now, you understand why those pesky pimples won’t “really” go away! Dermatologist have proven that parabens have the ability to “mimic” your natural hormones thus causing chaos in the body and multiple health problems. But, that's another story for another day.
Remember the little kids from the 1996 Breyers commercial, who tried to pronounce the ingredients in other ice cream and had no idea what the heck they were reading but when they got to the Breyers ice cream it was simple; milk, cream, sugar, natural flavor.
Now that you may be in shock, I have some natural solutions for your everyday skincare routine. Ever wonder how the ancient Egyptians were known for their clear ageless skin? Well, the secret ingredient for that was the use of beeswax. Using a unique mixture of oils and beeswax molded into a creamy paste aided the ancient Egyptians in keeping their skin young and flawless. They used this concoction to even out there skin tone, protect from sun damage and add moisture and moist skin = less wrinkles ladies (wink, wink).
Where do I get this special concoction from you ask?
CLICK HERE! This is Ginger & Honey’s unique mixture called “Bee Paste”. Through tons of trial and error we’ve managed to mimic the ancient Egyptian’s skincare routine into our very own and we make them to order so you will always get the freshest batch available.
So stop using those harsh chemicals on your skin that you can’t even pronounce and add our “Bee Paste” to your skincare routine.
