Honey Health Hero Giveaway Winner
What is a Honey Health Hero?
A Honey Health Heroes is an individual in the medical field who were first responders to the Corona Virus Pandemic. We created out of the need to support our healthcare workers in a different light. Many of our healthcare workers are overworked, stressed, and have had a huge disruption to their daily lives. So, we want to provide them with some relief and mental break from it all.
“if we want our healthcare workers to take care of us, we have to take care of them. No one can be at their best when they’re exhausted and not taking care of themselves because they’re taking care of others. During this Pandemic, I lost my grandmother who was a long time Registered Nurse for many years. I was not able to see her before her death. Honeys Health Heroes is dedicated to people just like my grandmother. Passionate, strong, selfless healthcare workers who need a break to continue to do good work to stop the spread of this virus."
” CEO, Founder of Ginger & Honey.
Each week for the next month or longer Ginger & Honey will giveaway Self-Care Spa Boxes to randomly selected Healthcare workers.
Meet Our Honey Health Hero, Winny Liang
This week we would like to recognize Honey Health Hero Winny Liang a Cardiology Physician’s Assistant at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Winny’s incredible story has touched our hearts and we feel honored to reward her with a self-care spa box due to her service. Below is the story of Winny from her heart to yours:
I am a full-time cardiology physician assistant at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Last month, within a blink of an eye, I went from 10-hour days seeing patients who needed pacemakers to working 13-hour days up on the medical floors managing some of the sickest patients I have ever had in my 7-year career as a PA. Most of them had COVID-19. For the first time, I saw the most resilient nurses break down in front of everyone because their patients were dying despite maximal effort and treatment. The most brilliant doctors were being perplexed and overwhelmed. Chaos reigned throughout every floor of the hospital. A place that always relied on order and workflow has become a “war zone.” Patient’s families are in an even more difficult spot, not being able to be with their loved ones while they were actively dying in their beds. It has been a horrific but humbling few months being on the medical floors.Although I love doing what I do as a PA, I love being a mom to my two-year-old daughter even more. However, being a healthcare provider, along with my husband, who happens to be a doctor in the ER, we have decided that we are high risk for spreading the disease. So in order to protect everyone in our family, we have not lived with our daughter in the same house for the past two months. Although rewarding, being an essential worker has quickly become the most isolating experience. As a healthcare provider, there is nothing more that I wish for besides my patients getting better. As a mother, there is nothing more that I can wish for besides being able to hold her in my arms again.
We’ve received hundreds of emails and messages from Healthcare workers wanting these Self-Care boxes and there are even more touching stories out there like Winny’s. Ginger & Honey is a small business in the Florence, KY area so we don’t have the funding to giveaway more. But, if you would like to help you can donate to the cause and give these nurses your thanks by giving them time to themselves to unwind and keep their mental stability so they can continue to do good for us fighting this pandemic. You can purchase your own customized Self-Care Spa box using this link OR feel free to contribute to our fundraiser on Facebook by clicking HERE everything helps!
Our goal is to giveaway over 75 boxes to healthcare workers like Winny but we need YOUR help to do it! Say THANK YOU to our Healthcare Heroes by supporting this cause.
